Dizzee Rascal wants Olympic performance

Dizzee Rascal has revealed that he would love to open the Olympic Games when they kick off in London next year.

Speaking to Radio 1's Newsbeat about the forthcoming ceremony and subsequent sporting events, he admitted it would be an honour to be involved:

"I'm excited about the olympics, yeah. It's in east London, it's around where I grew up and I did athletics when I was a kid as well."

"I'd love to do that definitely. To perform in such a big stadium where I grew up for such a big thing - it's the second olympics in London ever, I don't know when it's going to come back here."

Talking about his own athletic achievements, the 'Dance Wiv Me' star added that he was a great runner, but quit too early:

"100 metres, 400 metres, I used to do the cross country a lot! I don't remember my time, I was telling everyone 10 seconds but I don't remember my time!"
