Singer Ciara has aired her feelings about her idol Beyoncé during a trip to South Africa.

The pair released their debut solo LPs within a few months, and despite being contemporaries and being pit against each other by the press in the past, Ciara sees the Destiny’s Child star as one of her idols.

“I love and have a lot of respect for Beyoncé,” she said. “I just really, really support her for just whatever she does. From my perspective, she’s a hard worker and she has done so many great things over the years and has really, really earned [her place].”

She added: “From my perspective it’s really cool to see a woman doing it so big and so well.”
