Black Eyed Peas apologise for cancelled charity gig

Black Eyed Peas were scheduled to perform at a charity event last night, June 9, in New York City but temperamental weather meant they had to call off the 80,000 strong crowd at the last minute.

The 'Boom Boom Pow' superstars were supposed to play at the star-studded event in Central Park that was organised to raise money for the Robin Hood Foundation, but unusually high temperatures caused a 2-hour delay to the concert and then a thunderstorm prompted promoters to cancel it entirely.

Taboo tweeted his and Fergie's disappointment at the unfortunate news:

"Fergie is really sorry it's not happening we feel horrible .. We are devastated and Fergie told me to tweet this she loves u all. I hope that the concert will be rescheduled ASAP , our pea-ple deserve it , my peaple from chase and robinhood deserve this NYC we love u"

Will.i.Am also took to the social networking site to air his feelings on what happened:

"It was supposed to be 80thousand...but we are having a intimate show with 80people back stage"
