Swedish DJ and dance star Basshunter, real name Jonas Altberg, has been cleared of the sexual assault charges that were made against him in December 2010. 

Two females accused the 'Now You're Gone' hitmaker of various things, including slapping their backsides and thrusting one of their heads into his groin, when they met him at a nightclub in Kirkcaldy, Scotland. 

A court case then began, but he was acquitted yesterday (June 14) when Sheriff Maxwell Hendry pointed out that the girls' stories were "riddled with inconsistencies and improbabilities" and he added:

"I consider in this case the witnesses were neither credible nor reliable... They ignored good advice given to them to contact police and instead contacted a newspaper before giving statements."
