A release date has just been announced for Britney Spears’ latest music video, ‘I Wanna Go.’  It will be released on June 22, a week after she kicks off her ‘Femme Fatale’ tour in Sacramento, and be aired live first on MTV.

The release date means that the video for ‘I Wanna Go’ will now be eligible for the MTV Video Awards, the closing date being June 24. Over 500 other music videos wanting to make the deadline, including Rihanna’s ‘Man Down,’ and Katy Perry’s ‘Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)' have also released their videos during the last two weeks, so competition will be tough.
