Cee Lo Green denies homophobia

Cee Lo Green has apologised after he made comments on Twitter that were taken to be homophobic.

The comments were sparked after music editor Andrea Swensson printed a negative review of Cee Lo’s recent performance with Rihanna.

"I respect your criticism but be fair! People enjoyed last night!" He tweeted. "I'm guessing your gay? And my masculinity offended you? Well f**k you! (sic)"

However, quickly realizing he had caused offence, the ‘Forget You’ singer retracted his comments and expressed his regret over the tweets. The comments have since been deleted from his page.

"Apologies gay community!" Green wrote. "What was homophobic about that? I said I was guessing he was gay which is fine but it's nice to know what you think of me.

"I'm no bigot or homophobic, [It's] all a very big misunderstanding."
