The Killers have begun work on their fourth album

The Killers have spoken to Radio 1 DJ, Zane Lowe, about how they have begun work on their fourth studio album and have already written a series of new songs.

Flowers said:  'We have about four or five [songs]. We've put them up on the board and they're sounding good. We think they're strong.”

Flowers went on to explain that the band had "found a groove" writing the follow-up to 2008's 'Day & Age.'

Flowers said:  "When something's good and we feel like it's going to be a keeper, we put it up on a board and we have four or five up there right now.  Those are things that are strong."

Brandon Flowers admits they took their time to start with but are now enjoying the process.

He said:  "We've had a few breakthroughs and so it's exciting to have those moments again and to reminisce about great moments that we've had together.  It's nice, the idea of putting something new out again."

The Killers will be playing at the ‘Hard Rock Calling’ gig in London's Hyde Park on June 24, as well as at two warm-up shows at Scala tonight (June 22) and tomorrow (June 23.)
