Jessie J pulls out of festival shows

Jessie J has been forced to cancel a string of summer festival shows following surgery on her broken foot

Up until now, the 'Price Tag' singer refused to let the injury affect her tour schedule but she went under the knife yesterday, June 30, and her recovery time means that she's had to pull out of some of her biggest gigs to date.

Included in the canceled events are T in the Park, Lovebox and Key 103 Summertime Live in Manchester. Tweeting to fans last night, Jessie J wrote:

"I am in tears. I never thought it would come to this. Next year I will be at all the festivals but for now I have to follow doctors orders and just look after me. I know my #heartbeatswill understand... #imsorry"

An official statement from the singer also read:

"Sorry doesn't feel enough to say, I am devastated for my fans that I know have been waiting to see me and working hard for tickets. I was so excited about the summer and I'm as upset as you all are. But unfortunately these things happen. I have to remain positive and I promise I will make it up later in the year."
