N-Dubz star Dappy has ‘big goals’ for his solo career

Rap star Dappy, from R&B trio N-Dubz said he wants his solo career to reach his idols.

He previewed the first single, ‘No Regrets’, from his solo album yesterday, July 20 and it will be released officially on September 18.

Dappy said: “I really want to earn the respect of an older audience."

“I don't think there's any shame in trying to write music that will be recognised by people I admire, like Adele. Even Bono. I have big goals. I want to have two No. 1 singles back-to-back as a solo artist.”

As Dappy embarks on his solo career, bandmate Tulisa has begun her role as a judge on ‘The X Factor’ although N-Dubz have made it clear this isn't the end.
