Nero fight off competition to land a midweek No.1 with 'Promises'

Dubstep and producing duo Nero have landed a midweek No.1 this afternoon with their new single, 'Promises'.

The Official Charts Company has described today's positions (August 10) as "an incredibly tight race" although Nero are just under 1000 copies ahead of JLS, who are now at No.2 with their chart-topping hit, 'She Makes Me Wanna':

"In an incredibly tight race which sees this week's top three singles separated by only 1,500 sales in today's Official Singles Update, Nero have edged into the lead with new release Promises."

Cher Lloyd's debut single, 'Swagger Jagger', has slipped from the top spot into third place and Christina Perri's 'Jar of Hearts' has shot up an impressive 10 positions to sit at No.7. Charlie Simpson, former Busted star, has also made an appearance at No.37 with 'Parachutes'.
