Matt Cardle teams up with Gary Barlow on debut album

Matt Cardle has received a helping hand from Take That's Gary Barlow on his debut album.

The X Factor winner, who will release 'Letters' on October 17, brought Barlow in to write lead single 'Run For Your Life'.

He said in an interview with The Sun: ''We had 99 per cent of the album finished then the track came through from Gary.''

"I'd been trying to write a song like that for a long, long time, probably five or six years. As soon as I heard it I just felt the song was mine. Lyrically it's about not being good enough for the person you're with.  I know exactly what that's like. I was nearly in tears recording the vocals."

Cardle has also worked with songwriter Guy Chambers on the album.
