Owner of Amy Winehouse Foundation name talks about decision to purchase it

Mitch Winehouse has already spoken out about the problems that have arisen with the Amy Winehouse Foundation, but now the owner of the website name has given his side of the story.

The late singer's father was forced to return money donated to the charity because someone had already purchased the foundation name and Mitch tweeted his concerns over the issue last week, writing:

"Instead of concentrating on allocating funding I am having to send cheques back cos [because] we haven't got [a] bank ac [account] in that name. Our solicitors are all over this, but it takes time. Meanwhile we can't get on with [the] foundation."

Meanwhile, Martin McCann has opened up about his decision to purchase the Amy Winehouse Foundation name and told the NME:

"I'm not exploiting anything yet. I've just bought some domain names. Anybody could have. It only takes the click of a mouse. I'm not ashamed or embarrassed. Detach yourself from emotions and think business."

"He [Mitch Winehouse] is making every effort to hijack this charity to satiate his own needs for the charity. She's not the only Amy Winehouse in the world."

Speaking directly about being called a "dickhead" on Twitter, McCann added: "I'm not the dickhead. The dickhead is sitting over there without the name in his possession."
