Marc Anthony says JLo marriage wasn't "sustainable"

Jennifer Lopez has already opened up about her split from husband Marc Anthony, but he has finally broken his silence and said the relationship "wasn't sustainable".

In a new interview with U.S show Nightline, Anthony explains that the separation was a 'joint decision':

"I'll tell you that it wasn't something sensationalistic (sic) happening. It was a realisation on both our parts. So, you know, it wasn't shocking. These things happen. It was a decision that we made jointly."

"This is not a funeral. This is not a burial. This is just two people who came together and just realised... I'm saying that it wasn't sustainable the way it was, and that's that."

Despite having to experience the heartbreak of divorce, he added that there is still "life to see together through Max and Emme (JLo and Anthony's twins)" and that "this story's not over":

"It is sad... you think about your family, the possibilities, but we realised very early on that even though we're not together, this story's not over. There's stuff to do together, life to see together through Max and Emme, so it's all good."

His Nightline interview is set to air in the U.S later today, September 1 and you can watch the video for his collaboration with Pitbull on 'Rain Over Me' here:
