Lil Wayne breaks iTunes' first week album sales record

Lil Wayne has broken an impressive iTunes digital sales record with his new album, 'Tha Carter IV'.

The 'A Milli' rapper finally released the long-awaited and much delayed offering on August 29 and so far it's shifted over 300,000 copies through the online music retailer, breaking iTunes' first week digital album sales record.

Kanye West and Jay-Z earned themselves the same title recently with the release of their collaborative project, 'Watch The Throne', which saw a massive 290,000 copies sold through iTunes, but now - just three weeks later - Lil Wayne has stolen the crown.
