'Lady Gaga is female version of me' claims Alice Cooper

Alice Cooper has said Lady Gaga is his female counterpart after drawing comparisons between himself and the pop superstar.

Cooper, hailing from Detroit, stated "Lady Gaga is the female Alice Cooper" according to the Associated Press. He drew further similarity both on and off stage, commenting on their love for theatre and the invention of a stage persona.

He added, "She created a character named Lady Gaga and wrote songs for Lady Gaga, not for herself. I write songs for Alice, not for me. But if you meet her off stage she's nothing like that person on stage, it's like me I'm nothing like Alice."

Gaga, famed for her extroversion within the music industry often turns heads at award ceremonies. Her VMA appearances over the past two years have drawn a commendable amount of attention. Last year she dressed in a costume made from meat and this year she transformed her appearance into that of a man - or as she refers to him, 'Joe Calderone'.
