Jason Derulo: 'growing up has definitely taken place'

Jason Derulo has admitted that his new album, 'Future History', is perhaps his most revealing body of work yet.

Speaking exclusively to the Daily Star newspaper, the 'Ridin' Solo' hitmaker explained that "growing up has definitely taken place" and his new perspective has influenced his songwriting on this new offering:

"Accepting I’m famous is a huge part in me growing up. 'Be Careful' is a song about that. You need to be careful what you do to people, because sometimes you might hurt them and not even know it."

"There was a situation with one girl where I thought it was going to be a one-night stand, and it turned out to be something totally different."

He continued, "it wasn’t all my fault – but it wasn’t all hers either. That song really helped me come to terms with what happened and how you should be careful what you do, so you don’t break someone’s heart."

He has used the experiences of realising his fame and success to draw upon for many of the tracks on his new album, which was released on September 16, and you can check out 'Be Careful' below:
