Lady Gaga calls for bullying to "become illegal" after a fan commits suicide

Pop icon Lady Gaga has revealed that she plans to meet with the President of the United States of America to fight against bullying after one of her young fans recently took his own life.

14-year-old Jamey Rodemeyer killed himself after he came out as bisexual and became a victim of taunts, threats and cruelty.

The 'Born This Way' hitmaker has now vowed to help put an end to this disgusting "hate crime" and in a series of posts on her official Twitter page, Gaga wrote:

"The past days I've spent reflecting, crying, and yelling. I have so much anger. It is hard to feel love when cruelty takes someones life."

"Jamey Rodemeyer, 14 yrs old, took his life because of bullying. Bullying must become be illegal. It is a hate crime. I am meeting with our President. I will not stop fighting. This must end. Our generation has the power to end it. Trend it #MakeALawForJamey"

She also tweeted out a link to a video made by Rodemeyer earlier this year, in which he explains to viewers that "it does get better", and you can watch it in full below:
