Shania Twain's stalker pleads guilty

Shania Twain's stalker, Giovanni Palumbo, has pleaded guilty to criminal harassment and three counts of failure to comply with a court order.

The country singer gave her testimony via video link from Europe to Canada.

The former doctor sent the 46-year-old singer letters, visited her family home in Ontario and attended her grandmother's funeral before his arrest earlier this year.

Twain said that she was compassionate towards Palumbo but that she was still afraid of him:

"I'm torn emotionally because I have compassion for anybody who's reaching out in need - fans often do that. I feel very sad ... and awkward having to go through these very personal matters with Mr. Palumbo because it's such an invasion of his privacy".
