Dave Grohl is set to direct a 'Nevermind' documentary

Dave Grohl will be directing a documentary based around the studio, Sound City Studios, where 'Nevermind' was recorded.

It is 20 years since Nirvana released this landmark album and Grohl, who was their drummer, will be talking to other artists that recorded there.

This studio has hosted the likes of Nine Inch Nails, Metallica, Pat Benatar and Fleetwood Mac.

REO Speedwagon's Kevin Cronin also recorded there and he is supportive of Grohl's undertaking of the project:

"Dave is working on this project based on a studio that we all used to work at. I probably shouldn’t be talking about it-- Dave will probably announce it. But it’s very cool. [Sound City Studios is] Where they recorded Nevermind, and I know it means a lot to a lot of artists. So Dave is just kind of putting together something to get the stories that all the artists had about that studio".

There is no name for the project yet or a release date.

'Nevermind' is currently sitting at number four in the UK album charts.
