Singers Annie Lennox and Adele will be honoured this afternoon, October 7, at the 2011 Inspiration Awards for Women. 

The Eurythmics icon is set to be given a lifetime achievement award for both her incredible music career and continued philanthropic efforts for her work with humanitarian causes later today. Earlier this year, she was given an OBE for helping to fight AIDS and poverty in Africa.

Meanwhile Adele, who was recently forced to cancel her entire U.S tour because of ongoing issues with her throat, will be handed the Next Generation Inspiration prize for being one of the UK's "most inspirational, aspirational and stylish women". 

The ceremony will raise money for the Breakthrough Breast Cancer charity. Watch Adele's new video for 'Someone Like You' below:
