Steps think there's a gap in the market for their 2012 reunion

90s pop group Steps announced a comeback tour yesterday, October 10, and they feel that it's perfect timing because there's a "gap" for their sound in today's market.

Speaking to Digital Spy, the band's Lisa Scott-Lee explained that there are no other contemporary acts in the chart at the moment that are similar and she thinks they'll be successful in their 2012 reunion:

"Times have changed, but we are in a recession and Steps' music was very light-hearted and fun, so there could be a place for that in today's society. What else is interesting is that there aren't any boy/girl pop groups out there at the moment, so there's definitely a gap there."

The '5, 6, 7, 8' stars will perform at the following venues around the country next year:

  • April 2 - Belfast Odyssey Arena
  • April 3 - Dublin 02 Arena
  • April 4 - Liverpool Echo Arena
  • April 6 - Glasgow SECC
  • April 7 - Aberdeen AECC Press and Journal Arena
  • April 8 - Newcastle Metro Radio Arena
  • April 10 - Manchester Evening News Arena
  • April 11 - Nottingham Capital FM Arena
  • April 12 - Birmingham LG Arena
  • April 13 - Cardiff Motorpoint Arena
  • April 15 - Sheffield Motorpoint Arena
  • April 16 - Bournemouth BIC
  • April 17 - Brighton Centre
  • April 19 - London O2 Arena
