Ministry of Sound club saved

London's famous Ministry of Sound nightclub has been saved from the thread of closure after proposed plans for luxury apartments to be built in its vicinity fell through.

The popular hot spot, situated in the Elephant and Castle area of England's capital city, faced significant issues after a construction company announced that it wanted to build a top of the range residential complex nearby, but thanks to a petition with over 25,000 signatures the club will remain open and the plans have been overthrown.

Lohan Presencer, Ministry of Sound's CEO, issued an official statement on the news and said "a huge thank you to the 25,000 plus people who signed the petition. Last night the Planning Committee showed why local democracy matters to this country."

"We are incredibly pleased that committee members have applied proper scrutiny to all the aspects of the application and its relation to planning policy."

"Members have arrived at the correct decision and now is the time for all concerned to come together to find a positive vision for the regeneration of the Elephant and Castle area. Ministry of Sound wants to play a key part in this."

UK hitmaker Example, DJs Armin van Buuren and Judge Jules all helped to spearhead the campaign to save the venue.
