Emeli Sandé is singing with Professor Green on X Factor this weekend even though she doesn't follow the ITV programme.

She told the Evening Standard that becoming a popstar through the popular TV show is "dangerous":

"I'm just going to go and sing on it. I don't really follow who's on it unless someone shows me a clip in the studio...I think it's quite a dangerous way to become a pop star. It's brilliant that it's brought us people like Leona and Alexandra  - it is so hard to get heard in this industry. But I always felt sad when I watched it when I was younger - all those dreams being crushed by four judges. I think the long way is the best".

Even though she doesn't fully approve of the concept of X Factor, she has written for a number of its stars like Cher Lloyd, former judge Cheryl Cole and Susan Boyle, who became famous through the similar show, Britain's Got Talent.

She says that she doesn't mind who she writes for and includes Boyle as a favourite:

"It doesn't bother me who I write for, as long as my work is consistent. I would only worry if I gave someone a song that wasn't good...I love Susan Boyle as an artist and I think the song is great".
