The Ordinary Boys reunite for December tour

The Ordinary Boys have announced plans to reform for a series of live dates in December that will give their "songs the decent send off that they deserve".

Fronted by Preston, who rose to fame after appearing on Celebrity Big Brother back in 2006, the group will get back together for a one-off tour at the end of the year because they "desperately miss those early, sweaty Ordinary Boys shows." Preston told WENN:

"It's been five years since the band played live and despite having forged a career as a songwriter for other artists as well as (working on) some development and production (projects), I desperately miss those early, sweaty Ordinary Boys shows."

"I organised some time off in December to play some of my favourite venues from those days as a little release for myself and to give those songs the decent send off that they deserve."

He also added that now is the perfect time as he turns 30 next year and would like to get back on the road before he's too old:

"There is no reason beyond the fun of playing... I just need something loud and fast in my life and I want to do it before I turn 30 next year."

Although guitarist William J. Brown and bassist James Gregory won't return for the shows, you can catch Preston and the original drummer, Simon Goldring, at the following venues:

  • December 1 - The Cockpit Leeds
  • December 2 - Manchester Academy
  • December 3 - The Lemon Tree Aberdeen
  • December 4 - King Tut's Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow
