The Saturdays turn on Oxford Street's Christmas illuminations without Frankie Sandford

Girl group The Saturdays descended on London's Oxford Street last night to switch on the world famous Christmas lights and perform their new single, 'My Heart Takes Over'.

The 'Higher' stars honoured their very public commitment as a foursome because fifth member Frankie Sandford is currently completing a stint in a clinic for undisclosed reasons, and despite her absence they looked to have really enjoyed the evening.

After the event, they told fans: "Thanks to everyone who came down to the Oxford St Xmas Light Switch-On tonight. We had SUCH a good time. London - you were an awesome crowd!"

Rochelle Wiseman also took to her official Twitter account to explain how excited she was to take part in the well-loved illumination ceremony:

"My childhood dream has come true woo (sic). The Spice Girls turned on Oxford St Christmas lights and now we are tonight."
