Justin Bieber keeping his "head high", jokes about paternity suit

Justin Bieber has admitted that he is trying to keep his "head high" amid the recent allegations that he has fathered 20-year-old Mariah Yeater's baby

The Canadian sensation stopped by New York's Z100 radio station yesterday, November 17, and explained that the industry is full of setbacks and people willing to do "bad things to be getting press", but he's trying his best to rise above it all:

"Right now, I'm focusing on my album and the music and the Pencils of Promise charity we're doing, and just being positive because Christmas time is a time for joy and happiness, so that's what I'm thinking."

"As far as the whole baby situation, it's unfortunate that it had to happen like that that. People make false accusations, but things happen in this industry and you have to keep your head high and be positive."

17-year-old Bieber even joked that if someone was going to make up a potentially damaging rumour about him they could have at least thought of something more provocative:

"If it was up to me, it would have been a better story like, 'Justin Bieber went off to South America with this 27-year-old supermodel.' That would have been awesome."

"They say that any press is good press - I do not believe that's true. If you're in the spotlight, then people are looking at you to be a role model, and if you're doing bad things to be getting press, I think that's really, really sad."
