One Direction confirmed for 2012 U.S. tour

Teen heartthrobs One Direction have revealed that 2012 will see them embark upon a tour across America.

The boys, who rose to fame following their stint on last year's X Factor, will support Big Time Rush during their U.S. dates throughout February and are set to perform at some of the most well-known stateside venues including New York City's Radio City Music Hall.

Louis Tomlinson told Guilty Pleasures that although the group hasn't been heavily promoted in America as of yet, they're really excited to get out there and play shows to different audiences:

"We don’t really know what to expect. Obviously, we haven’t really done that much promotion over in the States so it’s going to be interesting to see where we stand."

He also explained that the guys plan to have house parties at Simon Cowell's LA pad and will probably "trash the place – that kind of thing".

One Direction will play at the following locations:

  • Feb 24 - Chicago, IL; Rosemont Theatre
  • Feb 25 - Detroit, MI; Fox Theatre
  • Feb 26 - Toronto, ONT; Air Canada Theatre
  • Feb 28 - Albany, NY; Palace Theatre
  • March 1 - Mashantucket, CT; Foxwoods
  • March 2 - Washington, DC; Patriot Center
