Britney Spears inspired by Jessie J and Adele

'Femme Fatale' Britney Spears has admitted that the phenomenal talent emanating from the UK this year has inspired her to "want to do better".

In a new interview with Stylist magazine, the pop sensation, mother and perfume designer explained that although she doesn't feel the need to compete with her contemporaries it's great to have "a little competition" to spur her on:

"Well, it’s really cool (to be an artist in 2011) because there are so many new, up-and-coming artists to look at and be inspired by. For me, I think it’s great to have a little competition because I feel it inspires us [Team Britney] and makes us want to do better."

Speaking specifically about the British acts that she loves, Spears added that she has spent a lot of time listening to Jessie J and Adele and really looks up to them as performers:

"There are so many soulful singers, even the ones coming from London, like Adele and Jessie J, who are just amazing. It feels like a really cool time to be making music now."
