Jennifer Hudson admits that her fiance saved her life

Vocal sensation and actress Jennifer Hudson has admitted that her fiance, David Otunga, saved her from the tragic and brutal fate that met her mother and brother back in 2008.

The superstar's loved ones were murdered three years ago in Hudson's Chicago home and although she hasn't spoken out much about the events of that horrific night, she has now revealed that visiting Otunga in Florida saved her life because she would have otherwise been with her family at home.

"That's one of the things that saved my life, because I could have been home with my mom then. He wanted me to come out to Florida with him instead of going to Chicago," she explained to Ebony magazine.

"I flew out to see him; that's why I'm still here. I've never said that before, and I can't believe I just said that now. But I didn't know. He was just like, 'I'm going to this wrestling thing, and it's in Tampa. I'm going out there now, so you can come out there and see me versus going home.'"
