Sir Paul McCartney to feature on a postage stamp

Sir Paul McCartney has been honoured as the face of a postage stamp as part of an exclusive range that is set to be launched by animal rights charity PETA later this week.

The well-known organisation, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, will unveil a series of stamps in the U.S. that feature the 20 most famous vegetarians of all-time tomorrow, November 29.

Hollywood actress Natalie Portman and television chat show host Ellen DeGeneres will also appear on the stamps and Lisa Lange, vice president of the animal rights charity, told the press:

"These are very influential people, and not everyone knows that these folks are vegetarian."

The iconic musician is set to go on tour throughout December and will play the following dates around the UK:

  • December 5 - London's O2 Arena
  • December 19 - Manchester's Evening News Arena
  • December 20 - Liverpool's Echo Arena
