Jessie J addresses "pitchy" X Factor performance on Twitter

Jessie J has publicly addressed her performance on last night's X Factor (November 27) after being met with criticism for a supposedly "pitchy" rendition of her latest single.

The singer-songwriter treated viewers and the studio audience alike to a rousing version of her new offering, 'Who You Are', although soon came under fire for her apparently imperfect vocals.

She took to Twitter earlier this afternoon, November 28, to talk about the unfair pressure put on artists faced with unfavourable live conditions and explained that she could barely hear the track through her in-ear monitor and knew she wasn't on point with every note:

"Its funny that people that follow you tweet you but don't @ you when there slagging you off. I WAS pitchy last night and its the first thing I said when I came off stage. The track was so low in my ears I couldn't hardly hear it. I am a realist and I'm NOT perfect. I'm growing and learning and I'd rate half the artists more if they had the guts to say shit to my face..."

"There not even haters. They presumers. The pressure to be perfect 24:7 is unfair on ALL artists. I over sang at points yes I wasn't in tune the whole song yes and I'm confident to put that out there. Its important to know your qualities but also know where things can be improved. I don't wanna be an artist put in a bubble, but I will say this...To date I've never mimed or lip synced. That I'm proud of."

The 'Nobody's Perfect' songstress added: "Even people who were on MY tour went in on me on twitter. Lmao! The way I lose respect for people who you think understand."
