Mitch Winehouse moots Lady Gaga for Amy film role

Amy Winehouse's father Mitch has suggested Lady Gaga could play the part of his daughter in a film.

The idea of a biopic about Amy's life has been hinted at previously, but speaking to the Sunday Mirror, Mitch mooted the idea of Lady Gaga playing the part of the singer.

Mitch said he met Gaga's parents at birthday celebrations for crooner Tony Bennett and reckons she'd be a good fit for the role. He said:

"We were invited to Tony Bennett's birthday party and we sat on a table with Lady Gaga's mum and dad. They are just normal folk and very lovely people."

"I have heard that Lady Gaga is keen to play Amy in a film. I don't know what her English accent is like but it's not just an English accent she would have to perfect – it's an English-Cockney-Jewish accent so she better start practising now. But she would be great."
