Britney Spears' boyfriend Jason Trawick has announced that the couple are now engaged, according to Access Hollywood.

Speaking to Access Hollywood's Billy Bush, Trawick confirmed the pair's engagement and said that they are both "over the moon" at the news.

He said: "Yes, we are engaged. [I am] over the moon, as [is] she."

Speculation had been mounting after Spears tweeted about Trawick surprising her with a very special "gift". She had said:

"OMG. Last night Jason surprised me with the one gift I've been waiting for. Can't wait to show you! SO SO SO excited!!!! Xxo."
