Taylor Swift's 'enhanced' Cover Girl advertisement pulled

Taylor Swift's advertisement for Cover Girl cosmetics has been scrapped in the U.S.

The country-pop sensation starred in a campaign for the company, which is famously endorsed by America's Next Top Model, but fans were outraged by the fact that her photograph had been enhanced to make her eyelashes look longer. 

She was promoting Cover Girl's NatureLuxe Mousse Mascara and the picture used for the advert shows a fresh-faced Swift looking up into the sky to showcase her long lashes, but the message that accompanied the ad got people talking and caused it to be pulled. 

"Lashes enhanced in post production" was printed alongside the campaign and this statement has now caused the National Advertising Division to ask Cover Girl bosses if they can prove the claims that their mascara can double the volume, as promised. Watch her latest music video for 'Ours' below:
