A coroner has ruled that Heavy D's recent death was caused by a blocked artery in his lungs. 

The 44-year-old star, real name Dwight Arrington Myers, was found unconscious outside of his home in Beverly Hills on November 8, but tragically died although it was unclear as to what had caused his untimely passing. 

An autopsy, carried out by the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office, has now identified the cause of death as a pulmonary embolism that was triggered by deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a condition not uncommon in passengers on long-haul flights. 

The coroner also reported that Heavy D was suffering from heart disease.
