The likes of Adele and One Direction are amongst the favourites to pick up a BRIT Award this year, according to bookmaker William Hill.

Last night (January 12) the full list of nominees were revealed for the BRIT Awards 2012, with Ed Sheeran grabbing the headlines with four nominations.

However, it is the likes of Adele and co. who have been installed as the favourites to pick up a gong at the ceremony later this year.

Adele is favourite to win the Mastercard British Album of the Year award with odds of 2/7 - with Sheeran the long shot at 12/1.

One Direction meanwhile are the tip in the British Single category at 2/1, with Adele's 'Someone Like You' close behind.

Coldplay are the runaway favourites in the British Group award with odds of 1/2, whilst it is Adele again who is similarly the pick of the bunch in the British Female Solo Artist group.
