Matt Cardle hints at "raw" second album

X Factor 2010 winner Matt Cardle has expressed his desire to make his next album "more raw" than his debut.

Cardle was catapulted straight into the attention of the pop world after winning the TV talent show just over a year ago, but he has confirmed he is looking to do things a bit rockier when it comes to recording the follow up to his debut 'Letters'. Speaking to the Daily Record, he said:

"The first record hinted at rock but you need to really do it. A lot of the songs are very produced on Letters. I want the new one to sound more raw."

Cardle however took time to recognise the success of his first album, stating that it has nearly reached platinum status. He said:

"The album has sold well. We're nearly at platinum, which is incredible. The guys from the label were saying if I was a new artist they had broken and I'd sold over 200,000 copies, there would be champagne corks popping everywhere. They would be talking about the fourth album, never mind the second. It's the context. It's because of X Factor, the exposure you get and the money they pour into it. Instead of celebrating, they are going, 'Come on, Matt, more please'."
