Sir Elton John's partner slams Madonna's Golden Globes win as a "fluke"

Sir Elton John's partner has criticised the Queen of Pop's recent win at the 2012 Golden Globes, calling her triumph "a fluke".

David Furnish spoke to the New York Post's gossip column, Page Six, about Madonna's success after she won the Best Original Song prize, for which Sir Elton was also nominated, and explained that "the integrity of the awards" should really be questioned:

"I think it was a fluke... When this happens you have to question the integrity of the awards. Did Madonna get the Golden Globe because she attended the awards and agreed be a presenter?"

"Can you sing Madonna's song? Can you hum it? It's a song nobody has heard, from a film few have seen. The award should have gone to (nominee) Mary J. Blige or Elton. I like Madonna's music, but not her movies. She should stick to what she is good at."
