Katy Perry teams up with The Sims video game

Pop princess Katy Perry has teamed up with video game company Electronic Arts to develop creative content for one of its most popular offerings, The Sims.

The 'Teenage Dream' singer is set to work on The Sims Studio and will design a range of virtual reality items including hairstyles, clothing and other Perry-themed accessories that will debut in March to coincide with the release of the Collector's Edition for The Sims 3 Showtime.

Speaking about the collaboration to The Hollywood Reporter, Perry explained her excitement about the project:

"I love how you're able to play out different stories through your Sims characters - giving them different careers and watching them succeed."

"It's cool to see The Sims' stage performances in The Sims 3 Showtime decked out just like my California Dreams Tour - even my cotton candy video screens are in there! I always like to think of myself like a cartoon, and now I'm a Sim!"
