David Furnish speaks out on recent Madonna criticism

David Furnish has spoken out on his recent comments about Madonna, who won the Best Original Song prize at the Golden Globes over his partner Sir Elton John

Earlier this month, upon hearing that the Queen of Pop had scooped the title Furnish exclaimed: "Madonna. Best song???? F**k off!!! I think it was a fluke... When this happens you have to question the integrity of the awards."

Now, he has opened up about his remarks and called the supposed 'feud' a "tempest in a teapot", writing on his official Facebook page:

"My comments regarding The Golden Globes have been blown way out of proportion. My passion for our film 'Gnomeo & Juliet' and belief in Elton's song really got my emotional juices going. But I must say for the record that I do believe Madonna is a great artist."
