Cher laughs off Twitter death hoax trend

Pop icon Cher has laughed off the death hoax that rocked Twitter earlier this week.

The 'Believe' superstar was the centre of a worldwide trend on the social networking site yesterday, January 27, that suggested she had passed away, but she saw the funny side and wrote to her fans to assure them she is alive and well:

"LOVELIES,.Im not going ANYWHERE TILL I FINISH THIS FKNG ALBUM ! The ONLY RIP I KNOW HOW 2 DO IS "RIP IT UP! KICK ASS & TAKE NO PRISONERS !"

She even joked that there should be a song on her forthcoming new album entitled 'RIP' and added, "just had great idea.... I'm going to ask Diane to write a song 4 Album! 'RIP'"

Back in August 2011, she announced that she had been working on a duet with Lady Gaga called 'The Greatest Thing' and they planned to release it on Cher's new record.
