Beyoncé set for hometown honour

New mother and international superstar Beyoncé is due to be honoured in her hometown of Houston, Texas.

A monument to celebrate the career and success of the singer will be designed by Armdeonce Ventures and an exhibition featuring memorabilia from both her time in Destiny's Child and as a solo performer will be launched later this year.

The company told My Fox Houston: "Our biggest thing is a lot of people get honoured when they die, so our goal is to why not honour people why they're still here? We felt as though it’s her time to be honoured."

"We wanted to construct, like, a massive hall so as the doors open, if you donated to the monument, you'll have a separate nameplate."

"There will be clips of Beyoncé with Destiny’s Child and wardrobe like a mini museum. We’ve gotten support from the city of Houston, from the mayor."

Although an official date is yet to be confirmed, Armdeonce Ventures hope to unveil the statue and exhibition in September to coincide with Beyoncé's birthday.
