Judge Nicole Scherzinger and host Steve Jones are to leave their positions on X Factor USA, it has been reported.

The BBC says that network Fox has confirmed that the pair won't be asked back to appear on the show's second series.

The first series of the show came to its conclusion in December last year after Melanie Amaro was crowned winner, but reports had suggested that Jones' role on the show as host was under review.

Jones meanwhile had revealed on Twitter last night (January 30) that he had left the show.

He said: "I wont be hosting next seasons XFactor which is a shame but I cant complain as I've had a great time. Good luck to everyone on the show."
