Mitch Winehouse shocked at Amy's coroner

Mitch Winehouse has spoken out about his family's shock at discovering the coroner at his daughter's inquest may not have been fully qualified.

It was revealed earlier this week that assistant deputy coroner Suzanne Greenaway might not have been entirely suitable to work on the case and after declaring Winehouse's death a result of misadventure back in October, she stood down. Mitch told The Sun:

"We were very shocked when we were informed the coroner was not suitably qualified. It's hard to believe her credentials weren't fully checked. You'd assume this sort of thing can't happen."

"We've been informed the coroner was taking guidance from more experienced professionals and the verdict doesn't appear to be in any doubt, but it's upsetting to have to go through all this again. We just hope that matters can be resolved soon."

Mitch took to social networking site Twitter last night (February 1) to reassure fans of Amy's that the family are coping well despite the unsettling news: "Don't worry about coroner nonsense. We are all ok."
