Katy Perry, Coldplay et al honour Sir Paul McCartney

The likes of Katy Perry and Coldplay turned out last night (February 10) in Los Angeles to honour Sir Paul McCartney.

McCartney was on the receiving end of MusiCares' 2012 Person of the Year award, which is organised by the people behind the Grammys.

It was a night of musical tributes, with Katy Perry covering 'Hey Jude' and Coldplay putting their own take on 'We Can Work it Out'. Alicia Keys meanwhile performed 'Blackbird', whilst Foo FIghters also performed.

The Telegraph reports that McCartney gave a message of thanks as he collected the award. He said: "For me, obviously it's great to here these fantastic artists singing my songs."
