LeAnn Rimes breaks down during Whitney Houston tribute

LeAnn Rimes has shared with fans a video of herself performing an incredibly emotional tribute to the late Whitney Houston filmed during a recent concert.

The country star played a gig in Reno, Nevada over the weekend and devoted her cover of 'I Will Always Love You' to the pop icon, but broke down in tears halfway through the song.

After going into the line "I hope life treats you kind", Rimes' voice faltered and she began to cry and took the rest of the verse to compose herself before finishing with a beautiful rendition of the chorus.

Footage of the heartfelt tribute has now surfaced online and she wrote on Twitter (February 13): "I get embarrassed when I watch that cause I couldn't control anything, so emotional."

Upon hearing the news of Houston's death, Rimes posted a sincere message of sadness: "I can't stop crying. I have a show to do soon. Wow, I learned how to do what I do because of 3 great women, one being Whitney."

"She was always so kind to me. This is not gonna be an easy show for sure. I'm doing what she taught me to do by listening to her records over & over as a little girl. Her death is very surreal."
