Melanie C has confirmed that the Spice Girls will not be reuniting for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

Speculation had been rife that the 90s pop group would come together again to celebrate the landmark occasion.

Bandmate Mel B had tweeted that the band were due to meet up next month - but speaking on ITV's Lorraine this morning (February 15), Melanie C confirmed that no full reunion will be forthcoming. Digital Spy reports that she said:

"It's such an incredible opportunity and what a wonderful thing to be able to do, the concert looks like it's going to be out of this world. But unfortunately we don't plan to perform or reform, so I'm sorry to disappoint anybody. We often have things that we talk about and it was something that we discussed, but unfortunately it's not going to happen."
