Emeli Sandé's debut album hits No.1 in the midweek update

Scottish vocal star Emeli Sandé is celebrating a midweek No.1 after her debut album, 'Our Version Of Events', shot to the top of the charts this afternoon (February 15).

The 'Heaven' hitmaker, who won the 2012 Critics' Choice BRIT Award, is set to knock Lana Del Rey from the top spot on Sunday when the positions are confirmed as the Official Charts Company reports that she is powering ahead in the race for No.1.

Gotye's 'Making Mirrors' is at a respectable No.4, Adele's '19' has climbed 12 places to No.11 following her GRAMMYs performance and win, and Whitney Houston's death has impacted the Top 40 as her 'Greatest Hits' record has entered today at No.7.
