Kelly Osbourne hit with Twitter abuse after calling Gaga "disrespectful"

Kelly Osbourne has been hit with an onslaught of criticism after she commented on the fact that pop icon Lady Gaga chose to avoid the red carpet festivities at the 2012 GRAMMYs.

Earlier last week after the GRAMMYs, which took place on February 12, Osbourne explained that walking the red carpet should be a mandatory part of any awards ceremony and said she was disappointed that Gaga chose not to make an appearance:

"Being part of the music industry is walking the red carpet. You say hello to your fans and you give back to those reporters and those people who supported you. And when you go to an awards show and you don’t walk the red carpet, I find that disrespectful."

Following her comments the television personality was hit with public abuse in the form of Twitter posts from Little Monsters around the world, which she retweeted for her own followers to see, and added:

"I have been told to die, suck d**k, get raped & that i look like i have aids by @ladygaga fans no wonder they get called bullies. (sic)"

"I love [her] I’m a huge fan she is amazing… i just gave one opinion and people went nuts! I don’t label [Gaga's] entire fan base as bullies because i know they are not but some really are giving you guys a bad rep! @ladygaga really has created monsters. W/every nasty unjustified tweet u send me u shame your queen. hate [is] not what @ladygaga is about!"
