Tom Jones and Stereophonics’ performance of ‘Mama Told Me Not To Come’ has been voted the nation’s favourite BRIT Awards duet.

The two Welsh acts covered the rock & roll classic on stage together in 2000 - the same year Jones picked up an award for Best British Male - and went onto reach number four with the song when it was released as the third single off his chart-topping comeback album, Reload.

The collaboration took the top spot in a survey of 3,000 people carried out by award sponsors Mastercard, just ahead of Jay-Z & Alicia Keys’ ‘Empire State Of Mind’ from 2010, and Klaxons & Rihanna’s mash-up of ‘Umbrella/Golden Skans’ from 2008.

Six-time Grammy winner Adele was also named as the star most Brits would like to duet with, while her now legendary rendition of ‘Someone Like You’ pipped Take That’s ‘Back For Good’ for the title of the best ever BRITs performance.
